The Philosophy of Reaching Wellness
The road to a fit and functional body does not begin and end with losing a couple of pounds, refraining from red meat, eating more greens or joining a gym. The journey begins with the right mind set and attitude. It is developing those habits that help you become the best you can be. It is not necessarily a radical change in lifestyle, but a gradual modification of how you live your life.
My goal is to provide inspiration, dietary and fitness tips, and the motivation to keep you on your path to a healthier lifestyle. Most of us know what we can do to improve our overall fitness. What is difficult for us is how to incorporate those changes into our daily routines.
There are many diet and exercise theories and each one possesses kernels of truth. What is in vogue today maybe out tomorrow and may be harmful to us in the long run. Do not get caught up in the hype. I have been studying and researching this subject for over twenty-five years and the fads and diets I have seen come and go are enough to make you crazy.
On this blog, 24hourstolife, we will discuss the importance of eating food as close to fresh as possible. The impact of drinking lots of pure fresh water and less pre-packaged and bottled juices, less soda, less coffee cutting back on your meat consumption, fast foods and packaged foods. These seemingly small changes will make you feel a lot healthier and fit.
The same goes for exercise. We will discuss different exercise routines and weight training workouts. How to stay motivated by seeking out training partners, personal trainers, teachers and others who will provide you with the motivation to keep you on the path of wellness.
Regardless of what regimen we are on now and how good it feels today it may not work for us tomorrow. Therefore, we will discus how to change and modify what we do to fit our current needs and time schedule. We will discuss all manners of incorporating those regimens that are practical and enjoyable.
There are other issues that impact our health sometimes more then exercise and dietary factors, such as bad relationships, stress-full jobs, our environment and your current perspective or attitude. We will discuss the impact of spirituality, meditation and its role in providing coping tools to defray some of the negativity that brings us down.
Remember, it is the small things that we do on a daily basis that will provide the biggest impact in our lives. Enjoy the journey because how you reach your destination will depend on the decisions you make along the way.
We are going to discuss freedom from both mental and physical dis-ease. This blog will not only give you tips to stay healthy, but the inspiration when you feel like giving up. Every day cannot be perfect, but with the right tools we can make everyday count toward our ultimate goal of minimizing the bad and maximizing what is good about being alive.
